Baby, a Good Cause and Cold Medicine

Normally, when I type my weekend rewind I’m sitting at my desk, however, tonight’s weekend rewind comes from the comfort of my couch. I’m fighting a terrible head cold; my nose is red as Rudolph’s, on the floor next to me looks like a drugstore, and I’m cranky. Chris is at school so I’m home with the kids. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids more than anything, but tonight they have been loud, hyper and argumentative. I can’t wait for bedtime to come or when Chris gets home, whatever comes first.
My weekend started out great.  First, there was a celebration of a new life.  One of my co - workers is expecting her first child, a little boy!! We threw her and her husband a baby shower. You will see their bundle of joy on here in a couple of weeks. Saturday, we participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Walk at the Legends. The weather was perfect for the two mile walk.  Looking at all the shirts that participates were wearing, I couldn’t believe how many little ones are affected by this disease.  It is completely heartbreaking.  Now, I feel guilty for complaining that I have a head cold; a head cold that will go away in a couple of days. These kids will live with this disease until a cure is found.  One day, with the help of fundraisers, softball tournaments, walks, they will find a cure for diabetes.
Here is to my weekend rewind.
