The saying is true “home sweet home”. This year we decided to stay home for our vacation. Both my husband and I were off all last week! We went swimming, shopping, played around in the city, and most important relaxed. Here are a few pictures from our staycation.
Here is a night view of Main Street in downtown Kansas City. If you haven't been to the AMC Theatre on Main Street, you are missing out. I love architecture! I could set in the lobby for hours studying every detail in the ceiling. Plus, it's a dinner movie theatre. I highly recommend it for date nights!!
Another building I fell in love with. Look at all the details of this church!
Wednesday was my birthday!! My husband and kiddos spoiled me rotten. I got breakfast in bed, we went swimming, and out to dinner. Plus, they got me this wonderful cake!!To work off all the food we eat that day, they took me to another one of my childhood favorites, The
Nelson - Atkins Museum of Art. Even though they were closed, we enjoyed walking around the grounds of the museum.
What I got the most out of our vacation was time to relax. Before, I had a lot of stress I was dealing with. I used the first couple of days to reevaluate everything being thrown at me. I made a lot of hard life changing decisions that I felt was right for me and my family. Time will tell if they were the right decisions. Right now, I believe they are. I'm more relaxed and stress free than I have been in a long time. I picked back up something I loved to do but never had the time. I took time to read! So, if you know of any good books, please let me know!!
Happy Wednesday!!
