No Betty Crocker here!

When I met my husband, one of the first things I wanted him to know is that I hated to cook and I mean HATE.  I knew how to make an egg sandwich and that was about it.  When we wanted a home cooked meal, it was off to my parent’s house.  My mother is a wonderful cook, along with her many talents.  My mom, bless her heart, try to teach me to cook with no avail. Now that my kids are older, they have discovered a love for baking. So now I forced to be in the kitchen baking cookies, cakes, and cupcakes along sided them. My husband last night asked if I would make him banana bread.  So, I attempted to make banana bread and failed.  I mean failed as in smoke coming out of the oven and my house smelling terrible.  My husband just sat there and laughed and said “I love you even though you’re no Betty Crocker”.  My daughter told my husband “I will bake for you, daddy, since mom can’t.” Well, at least I tried.
I did have one thing go right last night.  See, I have wanted a camera purse for a long time but couldn’t justify spending that amount of money on one. One night I ponder out loud “I wonder if I could make one”?  So, my wonderful husband and kids went and bought me a new purse (even though my birthday is a couple weeks away) and gave it to me to start working on my camera bag.  A trip to the fabric store and working all night hand sewing everything together, I finally got my camera purse!!
My early birthday present from my husband and kiddos
You have to excuse the terrible office lights.  I picked my two favorite colors brown and turquoise.

 Happy Friday!!
