Do you ever stop to think about your life and understanding what makes you happy, sad, etc? What are your life’s treasures and do you have any regrets? Unfortunately, it took a family tragedy for me to reevaluate my life. I have everything I always wanted: the perfect husband, kids, parents, and brothers. However, when it came to my career, I realized something was missing and it got me thinking. If I could change my career what would I do? My first thought was I to help people with mental illnesses. So, currently I’m working on my psychology degree at Rockhurst University . Secondly, I enjoy taking pictures of special moments in one’s lifetime and helping to capture the moments that you will never get back. So, by attempting to start my own photography business, I’m finally taking that big step! Before now, I have always been too scared or found some other excuses and soon realized that life is too short. Here is to making each moment count!
Now that you know where I am going, you also should know where I have been. I currently live in the Kansas City area. I have been married for 12 years. My husband, who is also my second photographer, is my rock. Without him, none of this would be possible. I also have two wonderful kids that are my reason to breathe. I’m a country girl trapped in the city. Most people dream of that mansion on the hill, but I dream of the old farm house with acreage. I’m also a huge animal lover. Besides my family, my biggest passion is photography. It first started out as just a hobby; the mom always taking pictures of her kids. Some people took notice of this and that lead to my first wedding, followed by family sessions, to lastly this past weekend shooting my third wedding. Who knows what the future has in store for me, but I’m willing to give it a try.
Since no post is good without a picture, here’s one with my two wonderful kiddos.
Love it!!! Continue to follow your dream! You are very talented!
